Sicilian Savory Chicken
by Anthony Solimini
Tonight was for research!
I made a Sicilian Seasoning using, for the first time ever, Savory!
Savory is a herb that belongs to the mint family. Herbs, like savory, are the leafy parts of plants that are used to add flavor to all kinds of food. This plant is small, with green leaves and blooming flowers.
For thousands of years, people have used this herb to enhance the flavor of their dishes. Ancient Romans and Greeks used the plant as far back as 2000 years ago, cultivating and using them in their cuisine.
I put it on a dry whole chicken at 400’ for 90 minutes. Or 165’ internal temperature.
Absolutely amazing! My new seasoning. No salt and all flavor.
Here’s the recipe: And there’s so many uses for this! Pizza (must-try), Pork, Roasted Chicken, Haddock, Salmon, Pasta Dishes, Steak, Sandwiches, Vegetables, Antipasto, Soups, and Salads.
2 Tablespoons dried basil
2 Tablespoons dried marjoram
2 Tablespoons dried oregano
2 Tablespoons dried thyme
2 Tablespoons dried savory
2 Teaspoons chili flakes
1 Tablespoon dried rosemary
The chicken was moist. Crispy. And so tasty.
Keep laughing, people!
